We’re proud to highlight the achievements of two dedicated students during their work placements at the University of Leicester Estate and Campus Services.

Saqlain’s Initiative Shines During Fire Alarm Testing
While working alongside his mentor Matt, Saqlain took the initiative to contact the university’s security team to confirm receipt of a fire alarm signal—something he offered to do for the first time. His clear and confident communication earned him positive feedback from the security department and praise from his mentor. Saqlain’s proactive approach is a great example of leadership in action.

Mahmudul’s Outstanding Support with Lost Property Management
Mahmudul has been instrumental in supporting the Front Desk team by cataloguing lost property using a new, complex electronic system. With a surprising volume of items found daily—from headphones and ID cards to clothing—Mahmudul’s meticulous work has not gone unnoticed. His mentor and manager commended his dedication and attention to detail.

A Lighthearted Moment
On a fun note, Saqlain and his second mentor Michael got into the Halloween spirit while testing systems—trying to see if they could catch a “flying” mood!

We’re thrilled to see these students grow and thrive in their placements. Well done, Saqlain and Mahmudul!
