Dear Parents/Carers,
I am writing to inform you of a decision that has been made in response to the exceptionally high temperatures forecast for the remainder of this week.
Following advice and careful consideration of the conditions within our school buildings, Ellesmere College will be closed to students on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th June.
This is never a decision that is taken lightly and it has been made only after thorough discussion and careful consideration of the wellbeing of our students. I fully recognise that this may cause inconvenience for some families and appreciate that it is far from ideal. However the safety and welfare of our children must remain our priority.
Whilst at home over the next few days we advise you to follow the health and safety advice from the government, staying inside or in shaded areas, wearing hats, suncream and staying hydrated.
Whilst there is no pressure from school to complete any work, teachers will be in touch with you tomorrow morning via Weduc to remind you of the EHCP targets that your child could work towards at home. It’s also an opportunity for you to read with your child.
We will look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Monday 29th June. Again, we apologise for any inconvenience.
Stay cool and safe.
Kindest regards
Steph Beale
