To start our celebrations, families and pupils enjoyed our very own Reading Café. With cosy corners, story baskets, and delicious treats, children could relax with a book and share stories with friends and grown‑ups. It was a wonderful way to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasure of reading together.
We were delighted to welcome CLS, who delivered an engaging Colour Monster workshop. Children explored emotions through storytelling, discussion, and creative activities inspired by The Colour Monster. It was both calming and joyful, helping pupils understand feelings in a fun and accessible way.
Sweet Cherry Publishing visited to bring Charles Dickens’ classic Oliver Twist to life. Through interactive storytelling, drama, and discussion, pupils stepped into Victorian London and explored the adventures (and misadventures!) of Oliver and his friends. It was a fantastic way to connect with classic literature in a modern, child‑friendly way.
Later in the day, pupils had the chance to become the famous characters from The Three Little Pigs. Working together, they built dens using different materials, tested their strength, and re‑enacted the story. There was plenty of problem‑solving, teamwork, and laughter as they created homes that they hoped would withstand the “big bad wolf” (played, of course, by enthusiastic staff members!).
